Chalk Festival
Go back in time to childhood days of messy hands and sidewalk chalk. During the festival you chalk your own pictures, meet and learn from professional artists and attend workshops for chalk making and street painting while using techniques such as shading, masking and stenciling. Featured chalk artists include Dyane Hanslik, Robin Heinrich, Jesse Rhinehart and others. Free entry, $10-$20 to draw. Cleveland Eats Culinary Festival
We can all agree on how mouthwateringly flavorful Cleveland food is. Experience these delectable dishes along with cooking demonstrations, live music, craft beer and family friendly activities. This year’s participants of the culinary festival include Adega, Heck’s Cafe, Melt Bar and Grill, Irie Jamaican Kitchen, Saucisson, Table 45 and more. Benefits from the festival go to student growth and scholarships for the Hospitality Management Programs at Cuyahoga Community College. $5-$50. Heights Music Hop
Artists such as Megan Sullivan, All is Harvest, Rachel Short and more take over Cleveland Heights. Presented by FutureHeights, this festival journeys through Coventry area beginning at Coventry Village, visiting Fairmont and ending at Lee Road. Light Nights
The Seiberling family legacy includes contributions to technology, health, culture, environment, community, military service, philanthropy and more. The Manor House commemorates these contributions with stories of family’s history and heritage. Guests are invited to walk the opulent gardens and enjoy live music from Zach Freidhof and Tall Tales in the Courtyard. As the sun sets, the Manor House exterior becomes a three-dimensional projection show that entertains and tells the compelling story of the Seiberling legacy with light, action and music. $7-$18. 19th Annual Battle of the Bands
In its first ever two-day celebration, Music Through the Streets presents marching band excellence. Sit in awe day one as HBCU bands from Kentucky State and Talladega perform musicality battles at East Professional Center. Day two, high schools such as Warrensville Heights, Euclid, Hunter’s Lane, Oak Park and more perform live field show music while executing pictorial marching formations. The Marigolds Block Party
Enjoy a block party embracing culture as you witness the unveiling of Cleveland artist, Amanda King’s The Marigolds. While engaging artistry and community efforts, the block party features a portrait series from a family of three generations of Buckeye residents and explores the pain and beauty of the black experience. Hosted by Land Studio and Shooting Without Bullets, the party includes a DJ, performances from youth artists, a live band, food and activities for children. Free.
